Notable Works for Granbury ISD

#Teach4Gr8ness

#Teach4Gr8ness is Granbury ISD's yearly Edtech conference designed to serve professional development to Granbury ISD and neighboring school districts. The conference was originated in the summer of 2018 by, then Technology Drirector, Amy Wood.

The conference combines keynotes from world renowned educators, with experts in the edtech field, along with Granbury ISD local experts that volunteer to present in an edcamp style collaboration. I began assisting with the planning and implementation of #Teach4Gr8ness in the spring of 2019 and have since led and coordinated the 2020 and 2021 conferences. The conference has grown from 120 sessions to serve 400 staff, to 185 sessions to serve 600 staff.

Granbury ISD Technology Learning Center

The Granbury ISD Technology Learning Center opened in the Fall of 2021 thanks to allocated ESSER funds. It was designed as a location for Granbury ISD campuses to plan technology integrated, content aligned activities and facilitate a day of instruction with ample available resources.

The facility includes Green Screen Studios, Podcasting Studios, a Mobile Robotics and Coding Arena, Vlogging and Video Creation studios, eSports, Collaborative mobile display racks, and much more!

House Bill 4545 Minutes Documentation System

Created a system of student minutes documentation to comply with House Bill 4545. District Administration would manually input student names, email addresses, and required minutes to comply with intervention times mandated by HB4545. Students log their minutes manually after each intervention and, after administrative approval, the data log will auto calculate the number of minutes approved and minutes remaining for each student.

Additionally, the school administration collects student progress data from teachers/tutors at the 3 and 5 week checkpoints of each grading period which can be sorted and combined with the individual student data reports showing student intervention documentation feedback.

Granbury Appraisal Program Portfolio Site

Granbury ISD adopted the "Granbury Appraisal Program" (GAP) when it became a District of Innovation. The GAP system was intended to replace PDAS, and a precursor to TTESS, with a goal of focusing on Staff growth above all else. The GAP Portfolio was created as a way for administrators and teachers to organize the campus goals, personal goals, professional learning strategies applied to in class instruction, and end of year reflection to take place.

Every teacher in Grabury ISD has a GAP portfolio, which is the primary documentation method for end of year evaluations by GISD administrators. GISD admin received a hyperdoc of staff portfolios for quick access while conducting PLC's, walkthroughs, and formal observations.

I created the system for evaluation and documentation alongside Ron Holmgreen (Assistant Superintendent) and Danielle Parsons (Director of Technology).

Granbury ISD #EdTechTreasures Blog

The #EdTechTreasures Blog was created in the Fall of 2021 as a way to organize and disseminate information to the 700+ Granbury ISD teachers. The #EdTechTreasures blog allows for the instructional technology department to catalog bite sized professional development for immediate or on demand use!

The EdTechTreasures blog offers weekly professional development specific to PK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 classroom settings. It also includes larger "crash course" offerings such as LightsSpeed and WeVideo that are district initiatives. The blog also has a weekly teacher and student highlight to show off the work of the staff and students of Granbury ISD.
